A new partnership between the National Football League and Twitter will change the way some viewers experience a number of games this season.
Football fans will soon be able to catch a number of Thursday Night Football games on Twitter. Yes, as in, viewers will be able to watch the games directly from the Twitter platform.
The social media giant will deliver a live digital stream of TNF across devices for free without authentication, according to a press release posted on the NFL's website.
A select 10 games in the 2016 regular season-- which will also be broadcasted on NBC and CBS and simulcast on the NFL network-- will stream through the social media site.
The partnership will additionally provide viewers with in-game highlights, and Periscope broadcasts from players and teams.
The NFL stated that this digital partnership will give fans an immersive experience.
"This is about transforming the fan experience with football. People watch NFL games with Twitter today," said Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, in a statement on the NFL's website. "Now they'll be able to watch right on Twitter Thursday nights."
The live stream will go out to the more than 800 million registered Twitter users on the platform through mobile phones, tablets, PCs and connected TVs. Non-registered users will also be able to access the stream.
