(WXYZ) — Two children and one adult were injured in a house fire on Detroit's west side early Wednesday.

The fire occurred at a home in the 14500 block of Hubbell near Greenfield and Grand River.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire in the front living room on the first floor of the two-story home.

A 27-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son escaped the fire and were at a neighbor's house, but firefighters say her 9-year-old son was still inside. They found the child and carried him out.

He was in cardiac arrest and firefighters performed CPR, regaining a pulse. The child is now at the hospital in critical condition.

The woman suffered smoke inhalation and burns to her face and arms. The 6-year-old suffered burns to 80 percent of his body.

Although officials believe the fire was accidental, they are performing a routine investigation to determine the cause.
