Detroit police say they have five suspects in custody for dozens of smash and grabs at businesses across the city dating back months. They are still searching for three other suspects.
According to police, 17-year-old Tamas Cummings and 19-year-old Deshawn Perry are in custody.
The suspects they are still searching for are identified as:
- Markel Xavier Allen, 19, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes
- Decharles West, 19, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 190 pounds, black hair, brown eyes
- Ivan Dayshared Austin, 19, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 170 pounds, black hair, brown eyes
The smash and grabs date back to Jan. 12, according to police. So far, there have already been more than 30 reported thefts.
