(WXYZ) — In tonight's 7 UpFront segment we're focusing on helping others in our community as the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Christmas Campaign unofficially kicked off today.
We're being joined by the Regional Chief Operating Officer for the Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Divisions Major Tim Meyer.

"That is the world's largest, world's tallest red kettle that we're talking about, and it adorns Cadillac Square, overlooking all the activities that are going on there, reminding passersby and motorists there are many who are in need this holiday season and the Salvation Army is poised to receive donations and pass those along to some of Detroit's neediest residents," Meyer says.
