(WXYZ) — In tonight's 7 UpFront segment we're taking a look at what hosting the 2024 NFL Draft will mean for Detroit.

Joining us to talk about it is the Executive Director of the Detroit Sports Commission Dave Beachnau.

You can see the full interview in the video player above.

"It means a great deal for the city. When we got the news on March 28th, that was a huge day for all of us, for the entire region and when I look back at all the individuals that touched this and were part of this process, it just makes me so proud," Beachnau says. "And one of the most important parts of our pitch to the NFL was the importance of a community impact, not only from an economic impact, but the legacy the draft will leave behind once it's long gone. So hundreds of thousands of fans will be coming into Detroit over a three-day period and it's going to have a huge impact and, probably, 50 million eyeballs will be on Detroit over a three-day period."
