"What I've heard overwhelmingly, and today we were briefed by the governor's team, is understanding that we have a new threat, or component, of COVID that is so much more contagious," Tlaib says. "But what we also hear is people are getting a lot more lax. As we're opening up schools, we see the contraction of the virus is among age youth and children and much of it is related to the opening of schools and also not being truly prepared for folks not following CDC guidelines."
