Biden announces $40M commitment to DDOT

Posted

Vice President Joe Biden was in Detroit today to announce a $40 million commitment to the Detroit Department of Transportation.

Biden and Detroit Mayor Duggan joined forces to talk about the recent improvements to DDOT.

Duggan says thanks to Biden's help, the city has more than 550,000 riders on buses. That is the highest number in three years, according to Duggan.

Last year, the U.S. Department of Transportation gave Detroit more than $25 million to buy 50 new hybrid and clean diesel buses.
