(WXYZ) — A semi-truck crashed through the median on I-696 eastbound at Coolidge in Oakland County.
The crash happened at around 11am on Thursday.
Traffic on the freeway was stop and go throughout the day.
Video from the scene shows the median broken with debris scattered across the road.
According to Michigan State Police, the driver of the semi was not injured.
MSP adding that there have been 44 crashes on highways in the Metro Detroit area since Thursday at midnight.
Lt. Mike Shaw with MSP says all of the crashes were preventable.
“Weather doesn’t cause crashes, it’s actually driver behavior that does and when you’re having already risky driving behavior by going too fast or following too closely, things like that usually you add a little rain and that gets worse," said Shaw.
