DETROIT (WXYZ) — Family of friends of murder victim Eugene Jennings, 36, held a candlelight vigil on Monday.
Around 100 people gathered outside the vacant home on the 20 block of Minnesota where his body was discovered by Detroit police on Saturday.

Jennings was a father of five children and described by loved ones as selfless man who held the family together.
"Absolutely senseless," Jennings' aunt, Cheryl Johnson said. "I don't understand it myself but with the strength of God we will get through it."
Detroit police said Jennings is one of six homicide victims in killing spree by Kenyel Brown.
Brown, 40, is in a hospital in serious condition after shooting himself Monday afternoon in Oak Park when he was being pursued by a task force that involved officers from multiple jurisdictions.
Jennings' family said they find some sense of closure knowing Brown is in custody.
"Thank God they caught him," Johnson said. "Now, we can have a piece of healing."
Funeral arrangements are pending for Jennings. A GoFundMe account has been created to cover Jennings' funeral expenses. You can donate here.
