Four people are in custody after investigators say they were caught stealing several cars from a storage lot in Orion Township. Warren police say five to seven expensive, high powered cars were stolen. Three cars have been recovered.

Investigators say two people were arrested in Detroit and two others were arrested at a home in Oak Park.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer says undercover officers had been doing surveillance for several weeks and overnight spotted them heading to that Orion Township lot. Police followed and saw them speed away in the stolen cars down I-75. Commissioner Dwyer says there was no high speed pursuit, but investigators used technology to track them down.

Police say the four suspects are from Detroit and all were on parole for auto theft related crimes.

Over the last few months, there have been several car thefts from storage lots in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. Police are still trying to figure out which thefts those four suspects are connected to and who else is involved.
