Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, is gravely ill at a Detroit hospital, her family tells 7 Action News.
Her family says she is responsive and surrounded by family.
The legendary soul singer, 76, has battled numerous health problems throughout the years and said she'd be retiring from concerts in 2017.
Her last performance in Detroit at the inaugural Detroit Music Weekend, where she sang at the outdoor festival on Aretha Franklin Way. She asked the crowd to keep her in their prayers at the end of the show.
