Federal, state and local officials gathered for a press conference about the Flint water crisis on Friday evening.
Flint Mayor Karen Weaver spoke first followed by doctors from several federal organizations.
According to Weaver, the update was to discuss results from new water tests.
Those test results, which came down less than 24 hours ago, showed lead levels above 150 parts per billion in a few results, Weaver said.
The water filters that are being handed out to Flint residents safely remove lead up to 150 parts per billion, which is concerning, according to Weaver.
She is urging residents in Flint to pick up water test kits for free at many different areas throughout the city. She said residents don't have to test the water themselves.
Governor Snyder has also issued a statement urging the residents to get their water tested:
It is essential that all Flint residents have the water in their homes tested as soon as possible. Please make it a priority for your family and encourage your friends and neighbors to obtain testing kits as well. The kits are available free of charge at the water resource sites within Flint fire stations.
