Wayne County is helping families get ready for the new school year with a big event.

Back to School Fun Fest is a day full of games and activities along with free health screenings, immunizations, hair cuts and giveaways. Children 6 and under can also get tested for lead exposure.

The event is open to all Wayne County students from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wayne County Health Center on Van Born Road in Wayne.

The first 300 students will get a backpack filled with school supplies. Four lucky kids will win a bicycle and helmet.

This event will be a day of fun and inspiration, getting families on the right track for the fall semester.
