Wayne County judge Vonda Evans, says she was the victim of an online stalker, and is telling her story to serve as a warning to others.
Evans, who is active on social media, says a mentally ill man from Georgia, with ties to Detroit, sent her dozens of inappropriate texts and photos of his genitals.
At the time, she did not know his location or mental state.
She quickly got police involved, and they located the man. However, she realized not everyone has those resources at their disposal, and encourages victims to keep evidence and get police help as soon as possible.
Evans says she will remain on social media, despite the scare.
