WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Wayne County man claims he's willing to pay five figures for a COVID-19 vaccine.

John Cipolletti, 72, said he and his wife are having trouble finding a vaccine provider to get vaccinated. He claims he signed up online with the local hospital and with Meijer.

However, he said he's still waiting for a call or email for an appointment. Cipolletti believes Wayne County residents are being left behind in the vaccine rollout.

Wayne County's website said since Feb. 3. they received nearly 30,000 vaccines. Their numbers show they have more appointments than doses available.

The county's website also said Wayne County seniors are eligible to receive the vaccine. Seniors should coordinate with their hospital group or Meijer to schedule a vaccine appointment.

Supplies are still very limited to all providers so please be patient, the county said.
