WESTLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — On Tuesday night, Westland leaders talked about a one-year contract that would send the city's recyclables to an incinerator in Detroit.

However, many people living near that incinerator voiced their concerns about that plan because of health concerns.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib posted on her Facebook page saying the community's health depended on the vote.

The city council voted no on the contract.
