DETROIT (WXYZ) — We're just hours away from opening Day, and we're getting you ready for the big game. There are some new rules at Comerica Park and some new options for fun.
Opening Day excitement has arrived, and fans are getting their gear for the big day.
Leigh Moore will be at the game and bought a Tigers jacket to show off her spirit.
"I'm real excited," Moore said. "I take in Detroit... I believe in the tigers – win or lose."
This year, the fun gets started even earlier with gates opening at 10 a.m. That's because there's a party happening inside the ballpark before first pitch.
There will also be live bands, a dj and home run happy hour on the Pepsi porch with discounted prices.
And if you're going to be here, remember the new bag policy. Smaller bags are fine.
And don't forget, you will need your mobile ticket to get inside. And there's something new aroung the ballpark since Cheli's is no longer there. And while the new Nashville-based, tin roof restaurant bar will eventually take its place, it is giving Detroit its first taste of the fun with its outside pop up tent before all home games, starting with opening day.
There's a $10 cover and they're getting started early, too. Attendees will be able to watch batting practice when they arrive early. Also, mobile assistance people in orange jackets will be available if people have issues with their mobile tickets.
