The event draws millions of fans from every walk of life to comic book shops all over the world.
In Michigan, Vault of Midnight Comic Books and Stuff will host Free Comic Book Day celebrations in Ann Arbor, Detroit and Grand Rapids.
"We'll be giving away comics all day long. And all of them are free!" says Vault of Midnight Event Coordinator Kaitlin Diemer. "Whether you're a kid, an adult, or even a total newcomer to the comic book medium, we'll make sure you walk away with a new story to enjoy."
"But, man, that is not all," adds co-owner Curtis Sullivan. "In accordance with sacred Free Comic Book Day law, we'll be giving away swag and prizes all day long. It's going to be awesome."
The comics cover a wide spectrum of genres from superheroes to sci-fi to Pokémon. Visitors will have their pick of the lot while supplies last and the full list of available titles can be found here.
"Free Comic Book Day is the highlight of our year," says Diemer. "We've pulled out all the stops to ensure this year's celebration will be even bigger and better than ever. We are just overjoyed that Free Comic Book Day is right around the corner once again."
