Wixom firefighters saved a 60-year-old man who lost control of his pickup truck and plunged into a retention pond. It happened Monday afternoon on Oak Creek Drive.

Chief Jeff Robert and Jason Breitmeyer were the first to arrive on the scene. Police say the Chief put on a survival suit made for cold water rescues and helped the man onto the bed on his truck. Then they both helped the man use a ladder in the back of his truck.. and crawl across it to shore.

Doctors treated the victim for minor injuries.
