DETROIT (WXYZ) — The search is on for a woman who ran off after injuring a Detroit cop in a vehicle collision overnight.
On Nov. 30, around 2:35 a.m., a 10th Precinct sergeant was driving south on Linwood approaching Blaine when a woman driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus heading north on Linwood, crossed the roadway into the southbound lane, police say.
According to police, the sergeant tried to avoid the collision but was struck on the side, causing his vehicle to be pushed into a building.
After the accident, the woman got out of her vehicle and ran away from the scene. The sergeant was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released, police say.
The suspect is not in custody.
