SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A woman was struck and killed while she was walking in Shelby Township early Monday morning.
Police say the woman was walking on eastbound M-59, west of Hayes Road, when she was struck by a silver Toyota Camry.
The fatal accident occurred around 12:45 a.m.
Police say the driver of the car stopped and was cooperative with the investigation. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash.

Shelby Township police are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to call at 586-731-2121. Hall Road was closed for several hours after the accident, but is now back open.
