Woodward Dream Cruise 2019: Your guide to the 25th anniversary

(WXYZ) — It's officially Dream Cruise day! WXYZ-TV Channel 7 is proud once again to partner with the Woodward Dream Cruise for the 25th anniversary. Check out your guide to the event below.

The 25th annual event will take place on today, Aug. 17, along Woodward Ave. for 16 miles from 8 Mile through The Loop in Pontiac. For all of the WXYZ coverage, visit wxyz.com/dreamcruise. Check out your guide to the event below.

Where to park
The Dream Cruise website only shows municipal parking lots nearest to Woodward. There will also be several parking lots along the route not operated by the cities.

  • Berkley: The communities primary events are located in downtown with municipal parking available. There are no public parking areas near Woodward. Parking is allowed on side streets adjoining Woodward. Overnight parking is not permitted. For details: www.berkleymich.org
  • Birmingham: All activities are within walking distance of the city’s five parking decks, where the first two hours of parking are free. For details: allinbirmingham.com/cruiseevent.
  • Bloomfield Township: Spectator parking near the car show is at 36700 Woodward for $5.
  • Ferndale: The municipal parking lots are metered, surrounding downtown Ferndale at Woodward and Nine Mile Rd. For details: www.parkferndale.com
  • Huntington Woods: Parking areas on Woodward have been leased by car clubs or reserved for city residents’ activities. There are no public parking areas near Woodward.
  • Pleasant Ridge: Parking is allowed on side streets adjoining Woodward but get there early to find a space. Overnight parking is not permitted. There are no public parking areas near Woodward.
  • Pontiac: Municipal parking is located in the downtown area and surrounding areas. For details: http://www.pontiacpowerweekevents.com/
  • Royal Oak: Parking is available at municipal parking lots in the downtown area and walking distance from Woodward. For details: www.ci.royal-oak.mi.us. Memorial park corner of Coolidge and 13 Mile for $10. Gunn Dyer park south of Normandy between Coolidge and Woodward for $10. Upton Park south of 14 mile west of Coolidge FREE parking with FREE shuttle to Memorial park.

How to watch
The WXYZ Dream Cruise special will air on Channel 7 at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 and again on Sunday morning. Be sure to tune in!

Events
There are several events related to the Woodward Dream Cruise. Starting early Saturday morning, the Cruise in Shoes 5K Fun Run/Walk will happen at 7:30 a.m. on Yorba Linda Blvd. and along Woodward Ave. through several Royal Oak neighborhood streets before finishing at Shrine High School.
