The Sterling Heights Police Department confirmed that a worker has died inside the Ford Sterling Axle Plant.
The plant is located on Mound Road near 17 Mile.
Police say the 24-year-old told his coworkers that he was not feeling well and was going to the restroom. After he did not return to the location on a timely basis, workers went to check on him and found him unresponsive.
Upon arrival, officers found employees performing CPR on him, and police took over the procedure, but to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there were no signs of foul play.
Ford released the following statement:
Our thoughts are with the family, friends and coworkers of a Ford employee who passed away after being found unresponsive in the bathroom at the Sterling Axle Plant early this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
