The world's-first luxury space station hotel will launch in 2021 with expected orbit in 2022, and will cost a whopping $9.5 million per person.

Developed by Orion Span, Aurora Station was introduced on Friday and will go on 12-day journeys for up to six people at a time.

“Guests will be orbiting in the hotel at 200 miles above the surface experiencing zero gravity the entire time,” Frank Bunger, CEO of Orion Span, told Forbes. “We are also going to be doing real space research up there like growing food in space, which we will let our guests take home as a souvenir. Then we will have a virtual reality experience, what we call the holodeck, named after Star Trek. Lastly, when the guests return home to Earth, we’re going to treat them to a hero’s welcome.”

According to Bunger, they have worked out the training process for those who want to go to space to about three months.

Bunger told Forbes that there would be three phases. The first is a month-long online course, then 4-6 weeks of training in Houston followed by a final training aboard the Aurora Station.

They are taking reservations now on the website with a refundable $80,000 deposit.
