On Monday morning, WXYZ Anchor Alicia Smith opened up about a recent health struggle she has been battling.
Alicia was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer. Millions of people are diagnosed with it every year.
According to Alicia, it showed up a few years ago as a tiny bump above her upper lip.
Alicia will be having surgery on Tuesday and will be off for a couple weeks while she recovers from the procedure.
