WXYZ DETROIT — It’s a Channel 7 tradition! For over 40 years, we have proudly honored high school graduates at the top of their class. They are the Brightest & Best and have earned their success and this public recognition.

Because of the Coronavirus crisis, this year may look and feel a lot different, but we’re making sure that our seniors are not forgotten. They come from all walks of life throughout Southeast Michigan. Like our region, these young people represent diversity and strength in every way imaginable. Join us on Channel 7 this summer as we tell their stories and pay special tribute to a one-of-a-kind class, the graduates of 2020. You will truly be inspired.

It’s also a time to celebrate their teachers, families and support systems. No one achieves these kinds of outstanding accomplishments entirely on their own. There is always someone who pushed a graduate a little harder and gave them a helping hand when they needed it most.

But this year, in such challenging times, the best will shine even brighter than ever. Since we can’t all celebrate together on the grounds of Broadcast House, we’ve produced special video tributes now airing on Channel 7. They will also be available for you to see anytime on your favorite streaming device, like Roku or Amazon Fire -- just search WXYZ. We also encourage you to go to WXYZ.com to see profiles of these amazing students. Learn who they are, where they come from and where they’re headed to further their career goals.

These outstanding graduates are our hope for the future. With their ingenuity, creativity and resilience, they have the potential to make a lasting impact on this world.

Join us all summer long on WXYZ as we congratulate the Brightest & Best of 2020!
