Sweet Tooth Cakes and Pastries in Allen Park comes in 7th on our online view poll. From the everyday to that special day, this neighborhood bakery has you covered. In addition to cakes for your special needs, Sweet Tooth Cakes and Pastries say you should also come in for cake “ just because.”
#6 ELITE SWEETS (LIVONIA)
Elite Sweets in Livonia hits the sweet spot at number 6. Elite Sweets specializing in chiffon torte cakes. They’re chiffon cakes split open and filled with your choice of filling. Like the cake by not the sugar? Elite Sweets offers sugar-free chocolate bliss and raspberry bliss cakes.
#5 PETITE SWEETS DETROIT
Petite Sweets specializes in wedding cake design, mini pastries, event cakes and dessert tables. Check out their flavor menu, and you’ll find everything from sweet to savory. Petite Sweets also provides custom floral arrangements to finish off your special day. They’re 5th on our list.
#4 FOR THE LOVE OF SUGAR (MIDTOWN DETROIT)
For The Love of Sugar in Midtown comes in 4th. Stop in for your big day or cake by the slice! One of the favorites here is the Matilda. It’s a chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream! I tried the multi-color fruity pebble cake, and it was really good!
#3 IVERSEN’S BAKERY (DEARBORN)
Coming in 3rd is Iversen’s Bakery in Dearborn. This family-owned bakery started one 100 years ago back in 1920. Iversen’s Bakery is known for their tortes. The Food Network says Iversen’s has the top tortes in metro Detroit.
#2 TERRI’S CAKES DETROIT
Our runner up is Terri’s Cakes Detroit. This family business started providing cakes for friends and family and blossomed from there. When Terri’s Cakes opens their first brick and mortar location this year in the Warren Corridor, they’ll employ and help send Detroit high school students on to college. They’re known for a crazy good carrot cake.
#1 CAKES BY STEPHANIE (MONROE)
The top spot goes to Cakes By Stephanie. Everything at this family-run bakery is done with the customer in mind. The sweet treats here blow the big box store cakes out of the water. If you want a real treat order the chocolate ho-ho. The homemade ganache puts this delectable delight over the top.
