GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WXYZ) — The family of American idol alum Genavieve Linkowski are grieving after the death of her sister Corinn last week in a horrific car crash.

Corinn's mother Tamara Linkowski says it’s been an emotional few days since the death of her daughter, but says her daughter's last act is saving countless lives.

"Just pleading with God not to take her from me," Genavieve said. "I was in shock I just couldn’t believe it."

It happened last Wednesday morning on M-15 at Coolidge Road in Atlas township as Corinn was on her way to work.

"She swerved a little bit and got a little bit in the snow and tried to correct herself and she over corrected and her car slid into oncoming traffic and she got t-boned," Tamara said.

The family says the last few days have been difficult. Corinn died Sunday at the hospital surrounded by friends and family. The Linkowskis have a strong belief in Christ and know their daughter is in a good place.

"I have no doubt where she's at," Corinn's mom Tamara said. "I know where she’s at. I know who she lives for and I know where she’s at."

We were with friends and family of Genavieve as she was picked to be on American idol last year.

At just 18 years old Corinn was always their by her sisters side as she went through the Idol journey, cheering her on every step of the way.

"She touched so many people and so in return they’re all here for us, and I’m just so thankful," Genavieve said.

In a last act, Corinn is donating all of her organs to save lives, something the family says is exactly what Corinn would have wanted, to always help others.

"We’ll get through this," Tamara said. "We’ll get through this by God's grace."

If you would like to help the Linkowski family, they’ve set up a GoFundMe fundraiser for Corinn.
