(WXYZ) — The 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic, the third installment of Detroit's PGA Tour tournament, will once again happen on the July 4 weekend, officials announced Wednesday.
The tournament at Detroit Golf Club will run from June 28-July 4 with the final round happening on the Fourth of July.
It's set up nicely between two majors, and could attract a great field two weeks after the U.S. Open in California and two weeks before the Open Championship in the United Kingdom.
It was originally scheduled for the week after Memorial Day in 2020 but was moved to the July 4 weekend due to COVID-19. This year's tournament was won by Bryson DeChambeau and featured a field that included several of the top golfers in the world.
