(WXYZ) — Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis and Oakland’s Jamal Cain were named Horizon League Co-Players of the Year on Monday.
The Horizon League awards are voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Davis is the fifth player in Detroit Mercy history to earn the conference’s top honor, following Rashad Phillips, Jermaine Jackson, Willie Green and Ray McCallum.
Davis finished the regular season with a scoring average of 23.7 points per game, behind only Bryant's Peter Kiss (25.1 PPG) and Liberty's Darius McGhee (24.7 PPG.)
Cain is the seventh Oakland player to receive the honor, following Kendrick Nunn, Kay Felder, Keith Benson, Mike Helms, Eric Taylor, and Scott Bittinger.
Cain averaged a double-double during the regular season, with 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
