DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire was feeling much better Thursday following his early exit from Wednesday's game due to overheating.
"I feel good," Gardenhire told Justin Rose Thursday at Comerica Park. "I've still got a little dicey-ness going on."
Gardenhire admitted he likely overexerted himself before Wednesday's game in Chicago.
"It was really hot, like it is here today. I was running around the field, shagging (fly balls during batting practice), picking up the balls, helping the bat boys pick up the balls, got inside, and I was really hot. And then the game started and it was smokin' in that dugout, there's no air. I was drinking water as much as I could, but all of a sudden I was getting a little light-headed and didn't feel too good. I guess I got dehydrated, and something with my sugar level dropped low, and there you have it."
