(WXYZ) -- The Tigers selected left-handed pitcher Daniel Stumpf from the Kansas City Royals Thursday in the major league portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
Stumpf spent time with both the Phillies and Royals organizations in 2016, appearing in 21 minor league games. He also made 7 appearances for the Phillies, compiling a 10.80 ERA and two strikeouts.
In seven minor league seasons, Stumpf has made 139 appearances, including 34 starts. In that time he was 23-23 with 11 saves, a 3.22 ERA, and 337 strikeouts.
