DETROIT (WXYZ) -- The Tigers announced Wednesday that they have signed 2017 first-round draft pick Alex Faedo.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"I'm really happy I ended up with the Tigers," Faedo said during his introductory press conference at Comerica Park. "I can tell this is a great organization with a lot of history around here."
Faedo, a right-handed pitcher, helped the University of Florida win its first College World Series championship in June. Faedo was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
With Faedo under contract, the Tigers have now signed 30 of their draft selections from the 2017 class.
