(WXYZ) -- Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire doesn't buy into the narrative that his team is going to be struggling through a rebuild.
"The part that I can't buy into right now is 'we might take a beating for a few years,'" Gardenhire said during an MLB.com interview. "I can never go into a season thinking we're gonna lose."

Gardenhire says the team echoes his confidence.
"They don't think we're gonna lose either, but we've talked and they've made me understand that we're gonna have a young baseball team. We have a few veterans around, but we're gonna kind of redo this system, and I'm excited about that part of it."
