The end zone facelift is part of a larger turf replacement project this summer at Michigan Stadium and Schembechler Hall.
The Detroit Lions recently made a similar change, coloring the Ford Field end zones blue in 2016.
The Wolverines' home opener is scheduled for September 8 against Western Michigan.
