(WXYZ) -- Ohio State has been tabbed the favorite in the unofficial 2017 Big Ten football media poll.

The poll, run by Cleveland.com, is the closest thing to a Big Ten preseason poll, as the conference does not do its own official ballot.

The Buckeyes earned 34 first-place votes to top the East Division, with Michigan finishing third and Michigan State finishing fourth in voting.

26 out of the 38 voters felt Ohio State would represent the Big Ten in the College Football Playoff, while only one voter picked Michigan to make the Playoff.

BIG TEN EAST

1. Ohio State, 260 points (34 first-place votes)
