Detroit Lions activate linebacker DeAndre Levy

The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday they have activated linebacker DeAndre Levy from the active/non-football injury list.

Levy, 29, is also expected to practice with the team on Tuesday. He was placed on the NFI list to start training camp on July 29.

He was still recovering from hip problems with sidelined him for the entire 2015 season. He did play in one game, but recorded no statistics and didn't finish the game.

In 2014, he had his best season with 151 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 2 1/2 sacks.

Before the 2015 season, he signed a 4-year, $33 million contract extension.
