(WXYZ) — Detroit Lions General Manager Bob Quinn spoke to the media Friday morning less than a week before the NFL Draft is scheduled to take place.
Reminder: You can watch the NFL Draft beginning Thursday night on Channel 7
According to Quinn, the team is looking to get an impact player with the No. 3 pick, or wherever they are picking.
He also said that he will likely know by Thursday afternoon if the team plans to make a move with the No. 3 pick, but doesn't anticipate making a move while the Lions are on the clock.
According to Quinn, they have had a few conversations with teams close to No. 3 going back to the NFL combine.
If the team does make a trade, Quinn said the Lions would like to stay in the top tier of the draft.
"If you like 6 guys and you feel like you can move back and they’re all similar graded, then you try to do that. If there’s a grade variance .. then you can’t go back as far," he said.

He also said that he is open to drafting a quarterback, adding, "My goal is to take the best overall player."
He said he wants to take a player who will ideally help them this year, but if not, that warrants a long conversation.
Quinn on if he's open to drafting a QB: My goal is to take the best overall player that can help us .. ideally that player can help us this season, but that’s something you have to take into account. If you have someone that’s by far the best player on the board
The draft will go virtual this year due to the coronavirus outbreak. For Quinn, he has a pretty large setup.
That setup includes a TV, three monitors, two laptops, a "huge draft phone," cell phones, a home phone and a printer.
He said that he's had more technology delivered in the last week for the draft.
"I feel really good about the setup. I'm confident it's going to work," he said.
Quinn said that they have tests set up with the NFL, and there's a mock draft conducted by the league on Monday.
