DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Detroit Mercy presented the first Reggie Hall Spirit Award on Saturday to former Titans baseball coach Bob Miller Sr.
Miller was unable to make the ceremony due to weather, so his son Bob Miller Jr. accepted the award on his behalf.
Miller took over as head coach of the school's baseball program in 1965 and coached all the way until 2000, compiling a 896-780-2 career record. He was inducted into the Detroit Mercy Athletics Hall of Fame in 1979.
As part of Saturday's festivities, WXYZ staff presented athletic director Robert Vowels with a framed Detroit Mercy basketball jersey featuring the "Titan Reggie" memorial patch and photos of the late Reggie Hall. The jersey will be displayed at Calihan Hall alongside the names of Reggie Hall Spirit Award recipients.
