Detroit Mercy has revealed a new logo, aimed at locking in a firm identity with its brand.
The Titans released the images at their annual Celebrate Spirit event on Thursday. The school's primary athletics logo remains the Titans shield with 'Detroit' written above the program's nickname.
The updated logo is an ode to the past, with retro flair creating a block-M inside the letter 'D.'
Detroit Mercy wants to be identified as such, asking media outlets and fans to toss away old nicknames like "Detroit, UDM, UD-Mercy, and UofD Mercy."
Various marketing pushes will advertise the school's new motto, 'Building a Boundless Future.'
