(WXYZ) — The Detroit Tigers have officially signed first-round pick Spencer Torkelson. The team announced Tuesday afternoon it had come to a deal.
Reporter Jim Callis reported the agreement included a signing bonus of more than $8.4 million, the largest in MLB Draft history.
The deal also comes just one day before the team is expected to begin training camp at Comerica Park on Wednesday.
