Zach Orr retired from football in January.

Five months later, he's planning a comeback to the NFL and a visit to the Lions.

After recording 132 tackles and had three interceptions last year with the Ravens, Orr retired.

He hurt his neck on Christmas Day in a game against Pittsburgh and missed the season finale against Cincinnati. An examination revealed he had a herniated disc, but further tests showed a deeper problem.

“The CT scan revealed that I had a condition I was born with that less than one percent of the world has,” Orr said at the time. “At the top of my spine, it was never formed completely. That puts me at a real increased risk.”

Still just 25 years old, Orr announced on NFL Network on Wednesday his intentions to return to the game.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports Orr will visit the Lions, among other teams.
