The Lions want to host another Super Bowl at Ford Field.
And they're going to make it official soon.
Team president Rod Wood has informed the NFL the Lions will make a bid to host the Super Bowl in the next round of available games. He told reporters of his intentions to make the pitch on Tuesday night.
The Lions are also interested in hosting an NFL Draft, and Wood pointed out the Fox Theatre as the ideal site.
