Gardenhire leaves dugout due to overheating

Posted

Tigers manager Ron Gardnehire was no one to be found in the dugout after the third inning in the team 4th of July loss to the Cubs.

He was relaxing in the clubhouse after experiencing overheating due to the excessive heat at Wrigley Field.

"Ronny had to step in side for a minute, he just got overheated," bench coach Steve Liddle explained to reporters after the game.

"Our trainers did a nice job of going in and having the doctors look at him just in case there was something more than that and their wasn't, he was just overheated. I just talked to him and he feels a lot better," Liddle added.

The Tigers return to Comerica Park for a four game series with the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
