ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Lions general manager Bob Quinn says the team -- as always -- will be looking to draft the best player available that also meshes with their immediate and long term needs next week in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Quinn says, "Last year when we took Taylor Decker in the first round, that was a position we porbably targetted from the minute I walked in the door here."

Decker is an offensive lineman and Quinn says that aside from that position, the Lions are open to drafting any position(s) this year.

Quinn cited wide receiver, running back and tight end as positions with a lot of talent in the 2017 draft. He also said what they do next week could impact what happens with TE Eric Ebron. Ebron has a fifth year option the team has to make a decision on, but they have until May 2 to do so.
