The Las Vegas Golden Knights selected forward Tomas Nosek from the Detroit Red Wings in Wednesday night's NHL expansion draft.

Nosek has played in just 17 NHL games, but recorded 15 goals and 41 points in his 51 regular season games with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

He played very well for the Griffins on their way to the Calder Cup this year. In 19 Calder Cup Playoff games, Nosek had 22 points with 10 goals.

Former Detroit Red Wings forward Teemu Pulkkinen was also selected by the Golden Knights.

Many people expected the Golden Knights to pick up goaltender Petr Mrazek, but Las Vegas found their goaltending talent elsewhere.
