PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Jack Hughes picked up five assists on Friday night to top Clayton Keller's all-time points record at USA Hockey's National Team Development Program.
He did it on the goal his pal Cole Caufield scored to top the program's all-time goal record.
Caufield scored six goals in Friday's game to break Phil Kessel's record.
NHL scouts, general managers, and coaches were littered throughout USA Hockey Arena. Ken Holland, Jeff Blashill, and Kris Draper were in the building from the Red Wings organization, and Tampa Bay's Steve Yzerman was among the on-lookers.
