The song Jeff Daniels wrote about Tigers legend Al Kaline is heading to Cooperstown.

The Chelsea native penned a tribute to his baseball hero, which struck a strong reaction from fellow fans mourning the loss of the icon.

The Baseball Hall of Fame caught wind of the song, and asked Daniels for his original lyrics.

"So I said, 'How much?' No, I'm kidding. I didn't," he laughed. "I couldn't believe it. It will be a part of Al Kaline's display."

Daniels shared the news on his live concert from the Purple Rose Theatre on Monday night.

"I couldn't get it into an envelope and into the mail fast enough," he added.
