Slay is in the final year of a four-year contract he signed in 2016, but has made three straight Pro Bowls. He sat out a portion of voluntary workouts before last season but did report to training camp.
He has spoken about wanting more money.
According to Schefter, any team that trades for Slay would have to both give him a new contract and compensate the Lions for the trade.
