DETROIT — Werner Blakely Jr. is the first All-American baseball player from the city of Detroit — ever.

The Detroit Edison senior is committed to play at Auburn, and this summer, played in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Blakely met Derek Jeter this year, and after meeting his hero, has a goal to be better than the Hall of Famer.
